The control room is the operation center of the MAST Laboratory, located immediately east of the test bay. It is the main room where researchers control, observe, and analyze experiments. It houses all the control components of the MAST System, including the MTS 6-DOF controller, Hydraulic Control Workstation, DAQ Workstation, Camera Control Workstation, and Telepresence Client Workstations.
The control room also houses data streaming and archiving hardware, audio and video switching matrices, DAQ system chassis, and other networking hardware in four equipment racks.
There is also a highly configurable 12-screen video wall for test visualization. The wall can display images from any of the laboratory's video cameras across multiple screens, as well as screen information from the various control workstations.
