MAST Laboratory Grand Opening

The MAST Laboratory celebrated its Grand Opening on September 21, 2004. Approximately 250 people attended, including University President Robert H. Bruininks, NSF NEES Program Director Joy M. Pauschke, U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Research Staff Director Dan Byers, ASCE/National President-Elect Dennis Martenson, engineering practitioners and researchers from the Minnesota community and around the country, and the general public. The Minnesota Daily featured the event on the front page of the September 22, 2004 issue (read the Daily article). Details of the event are below:

The MAST testing facility is supported in part by the George E.
